We at WIDE SMILES believe that nothing should stand in the way of a person's total develppment - and particularly not a craniofacial birth condition. However, we acknowledge that for sone there are special challenges.
For persons who face the sometimes difficult challenges associated with a craniofacial disorder, such as a cleft lip and palate, we want to offer our support and encouragement by way of the WIDE SMILES Lacy Marie Memorial Scholarship.
We are both proud and happy to lend our voice of support for college- bound or college-involved persons who are affected by a craniofacial condition. It is a small scholarship right now, consisting of grants of one to two hundred dollars, but the encouragement we offer knows no bounds.
To qualify for consideration for the Lacy Marie Memorial Scholarship, a person must
1) Be affected by a craniofacial anomaly;
2) Be entering or continuing in an accredited college or university for the 1996-97 school year; and
3) Demonstrate a history of academic success.
To be considered for a scholarship for the Fall, 1996 school year, you must fill out the application and return it with all required documents by April 15, 1996.
We wish we could grant awards to every qualified applicant. Of course, that would not be possible. However, we do want to sincerely wish all applicants the best of luck in meeting their educational goals.
