Who We Are
Sharon Kaplan Roszia and Deborah N. Silverstein have a long history of collaboration. They met in 1978 when Sharon was the Silverstein's social worker for their fourth adoption. They have gone on to create, lecture, and write together.
Sharon holds a Bachelors in Social Work and a Masters in Psychology. She has been working in all aspects of adoption for over 32 years.
She is the co-author of two books -- Cooperative Adoption & The Open Adoption Experience. She has lectured in the United States, Canada, and Australia. She provides ongoing consultation to triad members and professionals. She is a founding member of the Kinship Alliance and currently serves as its Project Director. She is a parent by birth, by adoption, and by fostering.
Deborah is a licensed clinical social worker,
a child and family counselor, and a certified hypnotherapist. She has over 20 years of adoption-related experience. She also lectures widely. She is a founding member of the Kinship Alliance and serves on the Alliance's Board of Directors. With Sharon, she co-authored "The Seven Core Issues in Adoption. " Deborah is also a recognized expert in the field of trauma recovery. She is the adoptive parent of four.
