Support Groups at PACER: Post Adoption Center for Education and Research is an volunteer organization providing information, support, education for adoptees and birth family in the search process and in adoption reform and advocacy in Northern California. They also provide a newsletter and general information which is valuable for anyone interested in the adoption search or adoption advocacy process.


Please take note! All groups begin at 7:30 pm unless noted by:

Single-Focus groups are for the individuals specified only. (Birthmothers, Adoptees, etc.)
Triad groups are open to all members of the triad plus spouses or significant partners.
Guests: It is important that you notify the facilitator prior to bringing a guest.
First-Timers: Be sure to telephone prior to attending your first meeting so that the facilitator may welcome you, provide direction and answer any questions you may have.

PACER support groups offer a safe, confidential environment where individuals within the adoption triad can come together to share with, and to learn from each other. Unlike therapy groups or one-on-one therapy where there is an "expert," a support group gives its members the possibility of finding their own answers, within the supportive environment of the group, thus experiencing the empowerment of their own healing.
