More on George & Marla

We live, along with our cat Sadie, in a sub-division approximately 15 minutes from Terre Haute, Indiana. Our little community provides us with the enjoyment of being somewhat in a country setting, but with the closeness of shopping, entertainment, schools, and hospitals. We love working outdoors, and our yard is full of beautiful flowers in the spring and summer. During Christmas time, our home becomes a winter wonderland for the neighborhood children as we decorate with lots of colorful lights and displays.

Our home is always open to family and friends. George loves to play baseball with his nieces and nephews, and will surely be a proud father on the sidelines as he cheers our child on in whatever sport they might enjoy. Marla has a love and talent for music. She looks forward to attending piano lessons and band concerts with our child. Marla has a loving eye for teddy bears and is already preparing a nursery full of them!

George is an electrical engineer and works with his father in the family business, which makes his schedule flexible for those times when he might be needed at home or later on through the years for parent's days at school. Marla has left her job in a local home decorating firm to prepare our home for our new arrival, and looks forward to being a full-timemom.

We love to travel and some of our favorite memories are those of family vacations. Both sets of our parents live about five miles away. George has a younger sister who is married and lives in TerreHaute. Marla is the youngest sibling with a brother who lives in Chula Vista, California and a sister who lives in Indianapolis, Indiana. We have a total of eight nieces and nephews. Our family has encircled us with their love and support.

Our faith is very important to us, and we are active in our church. We have taught in children's church, but now help the youth minister with the teenagers. We have found both age groups to be challenging; yet rewarding. Our church family is very supportive of our adoption plans and helps strengthen us with words and prayers.
