Finding out how to adopt:

First you need to decide whether you want to adopt an infant or older child
Singles will probably have better luck with international adoption if they want an infant, or a special needs adoption if they want an older child.

check out articles and resources about different kinds of adoption.

read answers/post questions on our boards. . . you can scroll through the different boards and choose the one which fits your situation. go to the chat rooms. . . there are often folks there to help you, mostly in the evening. Special needs room has nightly chat and beginning adopting parents have a great chat each Wednesday evening.

Have a website made with your resume or Dear Birthmother letter. Here are samples. If you do not have a website, contact us and we can make you one.

Then go to Waitingfamilies. com and register. You may register for free. If you want to include pictures of yourself which allows your profile to go to the top of the list when a search is made, you need to become members of the site. To become members, click here. Membership also allows you to make changes to your profile over time.
