Special needs adoptions: Future Families WELCOME!
Your Journey to Parenting Starts Here.

NOTE: Future Families is licensed to help you build your family in the following California counties; Santa Clara, Monterey, San Francisco, San Mateo, Alameda San Benito and Santa Cruz. If you live elsewhere in the state call 800-KIDS4US.

Future Families welcomes couples and single people who want to parent children who have no home, on a temporary or permanent basis. We respect and support diversity in families, knowing that each child we place has indiv idual and specific needs.
Our experienced team of professionals work with you each step of the journey to add a child to your family through adoption. We are committed to honesty, integrity and quality services that respond to the needs of the family and the waiting child, both before and after the child is placed in your home.
We have no arbitrary rules about who cannot adopt.
These Are Our Requirements Be a stable, mature person who can commit to parenting a child who has had major losses in his or her short life. The family and the home must meet licensing regulations, which include basic safety standards. The adults must be fingerprinted and provide a basic health screening. Families must also complete a Family Study conducted by our staff, which takes about ten hours of interviews with family members.
How Long Does It Take? Nine months is about average (remind you of anything!) but it could be three months or up to a year or so. We do not have a waiting list! Your Study will be done as soon as we know of a child who would match with your family.
Our fees are very limited, and we are able to pay you a generous monthly amount to support the child. (click on Who We Are for more info)
We provide 30 hours of free training, including sessions on Attachment, Normal Childhood Development, Understanding Children's Needs & Positive Parenting.
We provide monthly support groups for parents once your child is with you. We provide every child with free psychotherapy to help their adjustment to your home, and to help resolve the losses of their past.
