I have a sister-in-law who was adopted, it was a closed adoption and her twin sister was adopted also, to a different family. My sister-in-laws original birthdate was changed, her original first, middle and last name were changed. The name change is legal. But was it legal to change her original birthdate from her original birth certificate. This was done in the state of Pennsylvania in 1948. Is it possible for her to get this adoption opened? She wants to know about her parents, she has been in contact with her sister. It took sometime to find her which she did some years ago, but her sister won't tell her anything. Is there any hope for her and is the adoption legal since they changed the original birthdate and birth certificate. She knows her original name and birth date and the hospital she was born in, but can't get no other info.
