I think it is very important for speech delays to be found as early as possible. This helps the child overcome their delays earlier which in turn will help them with every facet of their lives. Parents want to "give it time" to see if it will alleviate itself, but you are wasting precious time that the child could be receiving help. A child with speech delays in the public school system could face many different challenges. If you have asked for help with your child's speech delays early enough then this may not even be an issue and your child will go on to enjoy life and school.
