The Waiting Child - A poem/prayer
This is a something that I came up with when I was feeling down and lost in my own sorrows. It really helped to create a more positive energy and maybe it will reach someone elses heart as well.
Dear Jesus,
Somewhere in this world tonight, lies a child who is lonely and scared. Somewhere in this world tonight, lies a child who has no home to call theirs.
Somewhere in this world tonight, lies a boy who is afraid of tomorrow. Somewhere in this world tonight, that boy has no one to ease his sorrows. Right here in this house of mine, I have a room all ready. Right here in this house of mine, I have love that is steady.
Right here in this house of mine, I am waiting for that boy. Right here in this house of mine, is room to add that joy.
Up there, where you are, can you hear my cries? Up there, where you are, can you see how hard I try?
Up there, where you are, do you share this pain I feel?
Up there, where you are, can you spare an angel to help me deal?
Can you make me stronger? Can you make me bold? Can you help me surpass the wait? Can you bring me that boy to hold? Can you help to ease his cries? Can you help him sleep tonight? Can you help him make it through? Can you help us win this fight?
Sometimes I feel it will never end! Sometimes I feel like I’m losing it all! Sometimes I cry at night for hours! Sometimes I wonder when I will get the call!
Oh, how badly I want to get that call!!
When will it come? Where will I be? Will I miss it the first time? Will it set us free? What will I do? Will I start to cry? Will I be forced to laugh? Will all of the pain instantly die?
I have poured out my heart, I have showed you how I feel. You have seen me at my weakest, before you now, I kneel. This is my prayer to you. I hope that you will see me through.
I am strong, but I am not invincible. I am smart, but I am no Einstein. I am brave, but I still have many fears. I am happy, but I still shed tears. I need you to stay by my side. Only you can make me complete. If you take my imperfections, and guide me through, there is nothing I can’t do. You are my savior, you are my rock, you are my strength, I am one of your flock. I am down on my knees, and I am crying out to you. Please Lord, help me see this through.
Amen

Thanks, I find that writing eases so many frustrations. Has anyone else aquired any hobbies that help ease the wait? What are some things that some of you (who are already approved) did during your wait time? I want to go out and by toys everyday...but that gets expensive...haha.

Love the prayer/poem!

What I did during the wait...
Left my job, ate, saw friends, did some travelling, ate, got the house cleaned out and more organized, ate, journaled, tried to do fun things and relax. Oh, and did I mention I ate?

Poem/Prayer
Christy,
I think what you are doing is great. I have been journaling and praying. I don't know how long my wait will be. I'm on a waitting list to adopt from Ethiopia, and they can't really give me a time frame. So I have to wait to even start the process, and then go through the whole waitting once we start our paper work/ home study/ and being matched process. I'm so excited and anxious I find myself wanting to by all kinds of baby stuff, but I don't even know if I will get a new born or toddler or some where in between. So for now I just pray, stay involved with my church, and try to enjoy my friends kids.

Crick, I have found comfort in food also. For me, this is a bad thing...haha
2babies4me,
Goodluck on your journey. May your wait be short, and my your blessings be many. I will add you to my prayer list...

You would not be legally required to have an open adoption or contact with her mom after the adoption is finalized. However, since she obviously knows her mom, it can be really hard on a child to...
