Hello Sazz.
I do not know what the laws are with this kind of situation--and the laws may vary from state to state.
If you are considering placing your baby for adoption a good first step would be to contact a reputable agency that can give you assistance with your medical care and provide you with counseling. A reputable agency will provide this at no charge to you, regardless of whether or not you later decide to go forward with adoption or if you change your mind and decide you want to parent. They should also be able to give you legal advice and help with how to go about terminating the father's parental rights
If you do not know of a good, reputable adoption agency, call and ask one of the local churches or synagogues or call your local telephone crisis line--they should be able to give you assistance and connect you with people and agencies that can help.
Here are two article links I found regarding sex offenders and parental rights/adoption:

Hope this helps some.

keep it in the family
To my understanding a father has to have no contact with his child for one year by choice. My question is: what is best for the child? Is there anyone who would want to adopt the child that is a family member? IT is always best to consider all options to keep them in the family first, for the mentality of the child. an opinion of course.
