Thankful for ...
Shared BlessingsDuring the Thanksgiving Day meal ask each person to share that for which he/she is most thankful.
Being a non-cook, I'm thankful for all the help I can get. And as I stumble about the kitchen, I will be watching
Butterball Turkey Talk online videos where their experts are going to walk me through thawing, cooking and stuffing. And because I'm never sure about the latest food safety advisories, I'm thankful for the
USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline (1-800-535-4555). For the "good stuff", the
Land O'Lakes Holiday Bakeline (1-800-782-9606) is going to turn me into a world-class baker - with help from the
Fleischmann Yeast Baker's Help Line (1-800-777-4959).
But especially...I have much to be thankful for, this and every year, including my faith, my health, and very special friends (many of whom I met in the online adoption community). And like other adoptees, I am especially thankful for my families,
both of them. I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce them:

"...I have to include in my thoughts and prayers the birth parents of our son. And they would be so proud of the wonderful person their birthson has become," - Gretchen
"...I'm forever thankful to my biological mother and to my adoptive parents for without both sets of parents, I would not be here right now." - Sunshine
"...with my parents by my side, I got to tell my children, my sister, and my ex-husband that I had spoken to [my birth daughter]... the excitement, tears, and hugs that followed were all the support and love I needed." -SunshineMe
Happy Thanksgiving
