It is very important to keep your marriage strong whether you are a stepfamily or not. Stepfamilies are particularly vulnerable to problems because you are bring not just two people together, but two different families with different values and ideas. Learning to merge these two families into one cohesive unit with take time and work. Keeping the relationship strong between the mother and father will help the rest of the family to become stronger too.
