How important is it to know all the latest lingo, jargon, acronyms, and abbreviations? Visit any of the online registries or listings, or join a mail list, chat room or newsgroup. If you haven't been keeping up with developments, you may not be able to decipher the postings. And there was even one registry that charged more to register if you didn't use the right abbreviations in the right places!

Sling the Lingo Like a Pro

Adoption, search and reunion, and related issues are too important for false pride. If you join an online community and you don't understand the abbreviations, acronyms, slang, or any other parts of a message, ask!
