Rosie O Adopts Again

Rosie O'Donnell has adopted her third child, a son named Blake Christopher. Blake was born a month prematurely, on December 5th, and is now home with mom Rosie, brother Parker (adopted in 1995) and sister Chelsea (adopted in 1997).
At 37, the popular talk show host has often said she wanted more children, and general consensus is that she won't stop here.
Single parent adoption has often been debated as a lifestyle choice, and many adoption practices appear to discriminate against singles who do pursue adoption to build their families. For example, most state agencies are quite open about their preferences for placing younger, healthier children
in the foster care system with traditional couples, "bumping" single applicants down the list of those waiting to adopt.
An increase in
international adoption has been partly attributed to adoption policies in many foreign countries which encourage adoption by singles.
Rosie O'Donnell's openness about her own family has done much to promote positive attitudes about adoption in general and single parent adoption more specifically.
