Self-Victimization by Birth Mothers

I can not believe that any woman would not see the closed adoption situation as a violation of civil rights. Adoptees are the only American citizens who are forbidden to have their original birth certificates. If birthmothers are so guilty of feeling sorry for themselves, then why has the system found it necessary to cover up the facts regarding the history of an adopted child's health heritage and natural origin? Something is wrong with this picture.
