710.22. Definitions
As used in this chapter:

"Adoptee" means the individual who is to be adopted, regardless of whether the individual is a child or an adult.
710.43. Persons authorized to execute consent to adoption.
If the individual to be adopted is an adult, the individual's consent is necessary before the court may enter an order of adoption, but consent by any other individual is not required.
