Yes, I spoke with a caseworker today, they are giving me a referral.

JodyHOST
Chat Moderator, what sort of symptoms did you struggle with the most?

poppyflr
lying, bedwetting, no feelings of having done anything wrong, hurting sister and brother...this child is five.

Chat Moderator
I struggled most with fear

poppyflr
oh...sorry...I thought you meant my child....

Chat Moderator
poppy that's fine... we want to hear it all

JodyHOST
no, that's okay....I think it's important that we all discuss the various symptoms....

poppyflr
and I'm angry at the kid....I don't know what to do with him..

JodyHOST
Chat Moderator, could you identify your fears as a youngster? I honestly don't think my kids can express what they feel.

KAYDOC
I was surprised to hear how it affects us

JodyHOST
LOL, poppyflr....according to Dr. Gregory Keck one of the symptoms of RAD is an angry and exhausted Mom.

Chat Moderator
I didn't struggle with the symptoms as a child - as an adult I mourn every day that I can't find a way to love another individual. I have learned compassion and caring for *humanity* but I can't bring it into focus on an individual basis

KAYDOC
helping the children to learn the basic emotions

JodyHOST
Intimacy at any level is a very prevalent among individuals with RAD

Johnsmom
boy a year ago I couldn't get a hug outta my child.

Chat Moderator
I was afraid I would be *discovered* - when I was very young, I wasn't sure what exactly it was that I was afraid of, but as I grew older, it seemed to be fear of having anyone get close enough to be disappointed in me...

poppyflr
oh, he will hug....but there are always strings attached.

JodyHOST
Mine would hug me too....after he tried to stab me!
