13Chat Transcript: continuedpoppyflr They have lived with a pathological liar for all of their lives....
Johnsmom yes and when they tell you a lie that you already know then you say, well you have a problem with lying so you will pay that back with ... (we use chores)
poppyflr maybe my sister is an adult RAD...
JodyHOST poppy, that's possible
KAYDOC RAD children have little or no conscious structure - lying seems normal
poppyflr she's eleven years younger than I am and really had a whole different set of parents growing up.
ToniD what you have been talking about since I came in describes my oldest to a T... she is bio though and doesn't have RAD... how is it distinguished? she isn't violent but the nit picky irritating things that happen on a daily basis are what I have heard described just now and in other places too
KAYDOC was your oldest sickly as a child?
ToniD no she just experienced a lot of death in her second year
poppyflr My sister is violent...I never thought of this before....WoW.....
SusanMW Need to be in control...manipulative...
poppyflr she is very much so, until you get to know her....Michael is the same
KAYDOC seems like the uncertainty of the deaths could have done similar harm
Chat Moderator toni, RAD isn't usually something that starts because of trauma after age 2, but certainly the deaths are traumatic experiences and could trigger similar behaviors
ToniD maybe so Kay....... and we try to look at that because we know she does have grieving days but it just seems so similar.......
SusanMW I keep saying I want to re-write the RAD lists, because Hannah only fit a couple things on the lists...
ToniD whatever Sue's problems are and RAD do seem to run parallel at times though
shenia Then what does start Rad if not trauma after age trauma before age 2?
KAYDOC lack of nurturing prior to 2
SusanMW but once I got her diagnosed, know I understand better how Hannah fits.
SusanMW Trauma, separation, neglect, abuse...
poppyflr so my eight month old niece may not have the same problems that my five year old nephew has...she is getting LOTS of nurturing..
KAYDOC yes... nurturing at a critical time
poppyflr and my two year old was with us for a month last year and back again now...so he will be easier?
