These films with adoption themes were created before 1960 and star some of the top names in film history. Some are fictionalized accounts of real people (Edna Gladney, Gladys Aylward), and others use adoption to support dramatic and comedic themes. Listed alphabetically.
1)Blossoms in the Dust (1941)Greer Garson stars as Edna Gladney, a pioneer in the world of adoption agencies. While instrumental in having the word "illegitimate" removed from Texas adoption files, she remained a staunch supporter of sealed records. Drama. Not rated.
