I need help finding laws in Texas for adopting an adult. My Mom wants to adopt her sister, my Aunt. My Aunt was in a car wreck and has a brain injury, but is recovering. Her ex-husband took her six year old daughter from us and we are trying desperately to get her back. This is the only home she has ever had and part of the reason she was taken was only because he no longer wanted to pay child support. This has been very painful for all of us, especially my Aunt. My Mom has no rights where her niece is concerned and she and my Aunt thought adoption might be the way to go. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. My email is alorock04@aol.com and my name is Angela. Thank you.
