Active Registry
Definition: Reunion registries which do not require that both parties register their consent. Once one party is registered, a designated individual (often an agency or court representative) is assigned to contact those persons being sought and determine their wishes for the release of information.

Reunion Registries
Reunion registries are places where members of the adoption community searching for birth family post their information in hopes of a match. These registries accept listings from all over the US and/or around the world. Many allow free posting and searching, others have fees.
