I will be traveling to Ukraine to adopt my girl or boy 3 - 6 years old. The plane leaves [here] on November 25 at 1100AM and I arrive in Kyiv on November 26 at 210PM.
Game plan is that I will be in Ukraine for 3 weeks to select the child and finalize the adoption.
I have given this information to a few family members, friends and of course my workplace. But for some reason I have not told everyone about the travel date. I just realized yesterday that I have not told my younger brother.
When I started my adoption journey, I sent out a newsletter to everyone I could think of.... But now.. for some reason I am not sharing as much information.
I don't know why I am hesitating but I have a theory.
Now that I have plane tickets, the adoption is more real to some people. A few people have gotten more assertive about helping.
“Can I drive you to the airport?”

“I bought some clothes for the child.”
“How can I help?”
“I have a toy for the child.”
I have enough energy to work and plan my trip. Everyone else's emotions/good intentions are just extra baggage that I don't need. So I put off telling other people to avoid having to deal with them.
