A Prayer for a Smiling Heart

The Sun and Moon appear with each day that passes
And not a day goes by that I don't think of you
I gaze up into the night sky in awe of the stars that sprinkle the heavens
And I say a little prayer
That one day your heart will smile and dance when you think of me

I have not the power or will inside of me to give up on you
So I sit patiently by and wait for a day that I know may never come
There is still a lifetime of memories that is ours for the taking
My hand is outstretched towards you
All you have to do is take it

Inside my jewelry box is a heart pendant
Each time I place it around my neck I think about you
And when I look into the mirror
I see your face reflecting back at me
My heart smiles and I silently tell you that I love you...

And I say a little prayer
That one day your heart will smile and dance when you think of me
