A Mother's Wish
by Lisa Dawn MayerDo you ever think
Your Mom lays crying?
Praying?
For your return.
Do you ever think
How selfish you are
Never giving her anything
No love at all...
Do you ever wonder what it's like
To be home in TEXAS
To be with your Mom?
To share in the LIFE
To GROW with her
To be a part of this family?
I had this dream many moons ago,
In it
I see you as the child I should know,
With it
Your hair is long,
Blue eyes melting my heart
Flannel shirt on.
Your cheeks glowing with wonderful life
And I am burning with love for you.
I watch you as you fill your desires,
Proud of the creation,
God gave us both "to do".
There is a sweet pleasure in everything you are,
A fine young man you're growing to be.
But this is just a dream...
That I am part of your grand idea
Of the perfect family tree.
My heart just pounds another second
Vibrating.
Sending out to you
Loving messages.
Instead of throwing your mom away
Put your eyes toward TEXAS,
I am still waiting
Come follow the star
Sit with your mom
Under the blue southern sky,
Tell me about yourself
As we drink lemonade...
I'll lend and ear and helping hand
To all your wishes and fantasies...
I am here for you,
Can you stand by me?
