Even though we live in Southern California, neither one of us has to drive to work. Jeff's business is based at home and Gudrun only has to walk 10 minutes to get to her office.
We live in a beautiful, hillside neighborhood on the University of California Irvine campus, only two miles from the beach. Irvine is located in Southern Orange County. All our neighbors are faculty members at the University and most have young families. Our neighbors come from all over the world, but the architecture and landscaping is purely Californian, with red-tiled roofs and lots of bougainvillea, palm trees and exotic flowers. Our home reflects our interest in artwork. We live in a beautiful spacious condominium on a hillside overlooking the whole LA basin. In our free time we love to spend time outdoors, hiking, camping, skiing, and just enjoying nature and the wilderness. Jeff enjoys collecting rare, antiquarian books. He has turned his love of books into a successful Internet business. Gudrun enjoys curling up at home and reading a good book. Gudrun with her nieces

The family on this webpage is working with Pact, An Adoption Alliance, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide the highest quality adoption services to children of color. We would be happy to give you more information about them and adoption in general - please feel free to call us (ask for Marta Barton, one of our Adoption Coordinator and a birth parent herself who placed her first son for adoption in 1991) at (800) 750-7590.
Our primary client is the child. In order to serve the child, we address the needs of all the child's parents, by advising families facing a crisis pregnancy and by offering lifelong education to adoptive families and birth families on matters of race and adoption. Our goal is for every child to feel wanted honored and loved, a cherished member of a strong family with proud connections to the rich cultural heritage that is his or her birthright. Pact was incorporated in 1991 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
