New Reunions from Adopt's Free Registry Received during last week of September 2000 Hello from the Happiest Mom in GeorgiaIT WAS ON OUR FREE REGISTRY in June 2000, Robin registered, searched for and found Sue, her birthmom. Robin, the birth daughter in California, met with Sue this month.
Robin made Sue a beautiful Webpage. She shared it with us before she showed to Sue. If you want to see something really special, check
it out http://www.geocities.com/delic8_35475/Following her visit to Robin, Sue sent the following letter to our birthmom expert Carol Bird
Dear Carol, Just thought I would drop you a little note to let you know it went GREAT !!!!!!!!! I had the most wonderful time of my life this past 5 1/2 days. Robin is wonderful, she was soooo sweet and caring, and Carlie (her 9 year old daughter) was the cutest thing, she would introduce me as Sue, my gramma from Georgia (my mom's birth-mother) She hung onto me the whole time I was there. Robin's parents were there and I couldn't have asked for more wonderful people. Sallie, (Robin's mom) had made me a photo album of Robin as she grew up. It was beautiful. Her dad videoed my mom and I getting off the plane and mine and Robin's first face to face meeting, and so much more. Robin and I will always cherish this past week and all the weeks of the rest of our lives.....(she called me three times today) When I called her to let her know I had gotten home she said," I can't say I am glad you are home but I can say I am glad you had a good flight."I am so happy, I just can't put it into works. Thank you so much for all the support and letters of encouragement. hugs forever,Sue (and Robin)I found my sister on your free registry. She told me that was the only place she ever registered and that it was several years ago. Nothing ever came of it and she forgot about it. The email address was old. I was feeling very disappointed, but then I just decided to pull out the violins and call the Internet Provider on the email. I am lucky that I got Jackie in customer service. She had a similar experience several years ago. She and her mother searched for and found her biological sister... so she was inclined to help me. I'm so glad I found my sister. Her name is Katie. She's such a nice person! I feel like I've known her for years. Your free registry helped make our reunion possible, but it would have been a lot easier if there was backup contact information. Maybe someday, somehow, your database can be redesigned to include that.
My husband said to me, "It looks like your pushiness paid off!" Hewas telling me that contacting the Internet Provider about the old email address would leadnowhere. With a little bit of luck and perseverance it all worked out for me,and I will be eternally grateful. The woman who helped us connect was reallysweet. I'm sure she was breaking some rules... but I suppose she just felt itwas the right thing to do. My sister Katie and I have been talking on the phonefor several hours each day. I feel as if I knew her in another place and time, but I can't remember where or when. This is more than I ever hoped for.
Sincerely,
Emily Hirsch
