Hello from both of us!

If you're considering offering your child for adoption, this letter is for you. We know you are facing a difficult decision in selecting the best adoptive parents for your baby. We hope our story will help to answer the questions you may have about us as prospective parents for your baby or toddler. Our quest to become parents has come about because of the love we have for each other and our desire to expand and share that love with children.

We are open-hearted, generous, compassionate people. We're fun, playful companions, and are always able to fit a romp with friends and family into our busy schedules. We are professionals with steady, rewarding careers (Scotty in education, Dana in high tech). To go with that, we live in South Lake Tahoe, one of the most beautiful places in California! We just bought a nice snug home with an extra bedroom just waiting for a happy little baby.

Outside of work we have many interests to share with each other and hope to share with our child. We're creative musicians and artists; both of us play instruments, sing, and create visual art. We're also avid sports people, taking every opportunity to enjoy the outdoor life of Tahoe on bikes, skis, snowboards, or on foot, as well as traveling frequently to tropical waters for surf and diving. We like to get together frequently with friends and family to do these things, or just to enjoy each others company around the fire.

Dana about Scotty:

Scotty is the most amazing person I've met. (Can you tell I'm biased?) He's this balanced blend of high-tech dude, big-hearted guy, natural athlete and artist.

Scotty moved out of software engineering at Intel (where we met) and into a career that's more in line with who he is: teaching computer skills to K-8 students. You should see the kindergartners dash up to him with their arms up wide saying, "Mr. Auble, Mr. Auble!" and encircling him to hug his legs. He was made to be a dad! He is so interested in kids and teaching technology in a way that is right for them, that he's doing a Masters program (taken online through CSU Sacramento) in the subject.

Scotty about Dana:

Dana is a fantastic partner and a really beautiful person. It amazes me how children are drawn to her and how well she relates to them. Our relationship is so open and honest and I see that in her other relationships too. She is someone that can really be trusted.

She is a gifted teacher (Spanish at Lake Tahoe Community college) and communicator, and her students appreciate how they can learn with humor and fun. She is someone that can really be trusted. Dana is hardworking and successful consulting writer in the telecommunication industry. Her customers love her how her descriptions of technology make it fresh and exciting.

Dana is deeply spiritual and is always helping me to have a new perspective. I know her child will feel a deep connection to life and the forces underlying it through Dana.

One thing great about living in Tahoe is the skiing. Here is Dana negotiating some deep powder at Kirkwood (right). Employees of the School District get inexpensive passes for the family so guess where many winter weekends are spent!

Dana has been a professional ski instructor for several past seasons, but has been giving that a break to concentrate more on her writing business. Her communication, teaching and athletic abilities have helped a lot of beginners learn to ski.
