We have both traveled extensively and have vacationed in Australia, Europe, Mexico, Hawaii, Canada, and throughout the USA. Lorna's parents have a vacation home on the Northern California coast where we spend many weekends with our family, walking the beach, playing tennis and golf and enjoying spectacular sunsets! Other weekend trips to Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, and San Diego are regular outings/getaways, where we often will spend time with our friends and their children. We look forward to our vacations very much, and we can't wait to share these and other fun places with our child.
There are many things we enjoy together. When we are not doing something to stay in shape, we are usually at a concert, working on our garden, or relaxing by our pool with friends. We also love to attend sporting events, and we are season ticket holders to the local professional basketball, baseball, and tennis teams. We are each other's best friends, and there is nothing we would rather do than spend time with each other. We enjoy life to the fullest. We are a happy and loving couple just waiting for a child to make us a family.
ABOUT LORNA:
Lorna is an office manager for her parents' construction company with her Mom, Dad, and cousin always nearby. Because Lorna works for a family business, she has a great deal of flexibility in her work schedule and plans on working only part-time after the arrival of our child. Lorna is very active, as she grew up on three acres with horses and spent her childhood horseback riding with her Dad and showing quarter horses throughout the state. Lorna is also a competitive tennis player who plays in various USTA tournaments and still plays tennis with her Dad nearly every weekend (her parents live just ten minutes away). She is a happy, outgoing person who loves spending time with our three-year-old niece Julia who lives nearby with Lorna's only sister and her husband. Since Lorna was born and raised in Sacramento, her extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins and their families all live close by, and we take turns celebrating holidays at each others' houses. Lorna has a very close and loving relationship with her family. (In fact, they are also our closest friends.) We cannot wait to pass these strong family values on to our child.
ABOUT DARIN:
Darin is an account executive for a mortgage company and has an office in our home. He too has a very flexible schedule and usually leaves by mid-morning and is home by mid-afternoon. Darin will be able to adjust his schedule to spend more time at home after we become parents. He is very athletic and has competed in basketball, tennis, and golf. Darin regularly spends time at our health club working out and is very physically fit. He is full of energy and is always working on projects at our house, but he also loves to spend time in our backyard by the pool! Darin is one of five children with his family spread throughout the West Coast. This makes for lots of family get-togethers where laughter and fun are first on the agenda. Our families are very excited about the prospect of adopting a child and would welcome the newest addition with open arms and love.
