CHINA PROGRAM
Accepting Applications: We are urgently recruiting families who are open to adopting from China. Adoption Services International is networking with US Asian Affairs which handles the in-country services.
Children Available Many, many infant girls, some infant boys, toddlers of both sexes. The vast majority of these children have been abandoned so little will be known about these children. According to the International Adoption Clinic in Minneapolis, Minnesota the Children followed through them have proved to be physically healthy. Families can expect some minor institutional developmental delays, but children have caught up quickly once they are placed with a family.
Age Requirements Parent's ageChild most likely to be referred 35-45 and childlesshealthy infant (3-18 months)** one parent 35-45 and one over 45healthy infant (3-18 months)** over 45 maximum of 45 years difference between youngest parent & child **No guarantees can be made about the medical condition of a child. ASI and US Asian Affairs disclose all known medical information on children placed through them.
Children: China is no longer accepting applications for families with biological or adopted children.

Home Study Agency* $ 2,940 Overseas/China fees $ 9,260 Travel (approximate) $ 1,800 per person Total (approximate) $14,000 Subsidy: Based on income and availability
* The adoption is finalized in China so readopting in a California court is the family's choice. Adoption Services International recommends readopting, because the family receives more support during the post placement process. It also is the easiest way to generate a California birth certificate for the child. There is an additional $500 if family chooses to readopt.
All costs are approximate and subject to change.
Families who have used U.S. Asian Affairs are available to speak to those considering this country.
