Writing a Reference Letter ...
Q: I am trying to compose a letter of reference for my Son & Daughter-in-Law who are in the process of adopting a child. They need from us a letter of recommendation and I was curious if anyone had some sample letters or ideas of where to begin.
Sincerely,
Char

A:
In writing a letter of reference, you should document the great qualities your son and his wife have will make them good parents and evidence of their stability and readiness to support a child...Mention qualities which will make them good parents. Here is a list of qualities you might mention and give examples you have witnessed:
dedication to each other and their marriage, close-knit, warm extended family anxious to accept an adopted child into the family, hardworking, honest, great sense of humor, flexible, ability to support a child and evidence of their dedication to kids...eg, if they help out at Sunday School or take their neices and nephews to the zoo or play with them alot.
